As an industry thought leader, Mr. Gershman speaks at national conferences and writes articles for leading industry publications. He is the lead author and instructor for SWANA’s training course entitled “Economics, Costs, and Full Cost Accounting for Integrated Solid Waste Management Systems.” He is an active member of the International Board of SWANA and received SWANA’s Professional Achievement Award in 1993. He serves on the Board of Directors for the National Recycling Coalition (NRC), as well as NRC’s Policy Committee. He was President of the Maryland Recyclers Coalition (MRC) from 1995 to 1997. Prior to establishing GBB, Inc., he was Vice President of Gordian Associates, Inc. where he managed energy and environmental consulting.
